He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Hoops and Grace Hoops (Perky); his wife Jean Hoops (King); and his brothers, Philip and Kenneth Hoops.
He is survived by: his children, Debbie Jorgenson, Cheri Brill (Michael) of Wisconsin, Mariann Menter (Phil) of Ohio, Sue Mead (Eugene) of Ohio, Patti Scheetz (Michael) of Ohio, David Hoops Jr. of Ohio, Michael Hoops (Diane) of Ohio and Mark Hoops of Ohio; and his sisters, Carol Flick of Wisconsin and Marilyn Newcomb of Wisconsin. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, and 39 great grandchildren.
