He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry T. Rode and Rosa Rode (Kroeger); his siblings, Melvin Rode, Alice Kaverman and Norie Hemker; and also John Skarzynski.
He is survived by: his children, Andy Rode (Connie) of Elida, Dan Rode (Ann) of Lewistown, Tony Rode (Jenny) of Elida, Kathy Skarzynski of Kettering, Patty Black (Dave) of New Carlisle and Julie Shisler (Bill) of Centerville; his grandchildren, Kim Bowen (Les), Chrystal Chapman (Ian), Vanessa Sherrick, Amanda Henry (Michael), Laura Skarzynski, Greg Black (Tasha), Sarah Gould (Johnny), Brittany Tyler, Luke Rode, Tyler Rode, Elizabeth Dawson (Zach), Rob Shisler, Lindsay Whitacre (DJ), Hailey Rode and Lily Rode; his brother Arnold Rode (Mary Ann) of Ottoville; and his wife Maureen R. Finn. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
