He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Oppermann; his parents, Theresia Oppermann and Philipp Oppermann; his grandson Bradley Shawn Thompson; and his great grandchild Archer Richard Sams.
He is survived by: his sister Lori Foster (Irv Daley); and his stepchildren, Shawna Sams (John), Roger Thompson, Crystal Lanum (Mike), Traci Thompson and David Thompson. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
