He was predeceased by: his brother Jeff Vorst; his grandparents, Joe, Mildred Buss, Harold and Millie Vorst; and his father-in-law Elmer Tobe.

He is survived by: his children, Carter, Ella, Maya and Reid Vorst; his sister Natalie Vorst of Toledo; his mother-in-law Marianne Tobe; and his siblings-in-law, Josh Tobe (Adrienne), Jason Tobe (Kelly), Nathan Tobe (Nicole), Jamie Duncan (Brad), Shannon Hadding (Josh), Nichole Spears (Brian) and Carissa Burke (Uriah). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
