He was predeceased by: his parents, William Howard Taft and Katherine Lee Cope (McCusker); his son Christopher N. Cope; and his siblings, John Cope and LeeAnn Packman.
He is survived by: his spouse Lori L. Thomas; his children, Tabatha Walker (Jeffry) of Bazetta, Amy Cope (Derek Ripple) of Warren and William "Brian" Cope (Taylor Shuto) of Niles; his stepchildren, Tina Marie Sumner of Mineral Ridge and Kevin Sumner of Niles; his siblings, Mary Ellen Dyson (Mike) of West Farmington, Theresa Leeper (John) of Manassas, VA, Lori Karafa (Carl) of Champion, Patrick Cope of Champion and Kelly Carcanas of Champion; and his grandchildren, Saralyn, Alexander, Chelsea, Aspen and Nico. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that material contributions be made to a Go Fund Me account that they will be establishing in Chris's memory.
