He is survived by: his grandchildren, Athena Merklin (Joe), Taylor Molnar, Aegeas Wiertel and Elijah Wiertel; his great grandchildren, Hailee and Hunter; and his siblings, George Shinas of Cleveland and Kathryn Athanasiou of Greece. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
