He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Leo Barreca and Antoinette Barreca (Chila); his siblings, Joe (Angie) and Carmel Welch (Barreca); and his adoptive son Eric Gelsomino.
He is survived by: his daughter Kathleen; his nephew Leo of Akron; his godsons, John Pugliese of Texas and Greg Costantino of McDonald; his grandchildren, Eric and Gina Gelsomino; and his children, Ittybittykitty and Smudge.
