He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Thomas Desmond and Winifred Desmond (Madden); his daughter Erin Whitacre; his son-in-law Fred of Girard; and his wife Rebecca L. Desmond (Stanford). He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, cousins, and a dedicated circle of close friends.
