She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Umeck and Anna Umeck (Kanaus); her husband Joseph Cernich; her son Joseph Cernich; and her siblings, Rose Cherne, Joseph Umeck Jr., William Umeck and Edward Umeck.
She is survived by: her children, Paul Cernich (Patricia) of Niles, Paulette Jones (Carter) of Outer Banks, NC and David Cernich (Ellen) of Pittsburgh; and her sister Bea Matuszwski (John).
