He was predeceased by: his parents, George Benik and Catherine Benik (Yarnovich); his son Michael Benik; and his siblings, John, Mike, Nick Benik, Rose Degiralomo, Mary Cavalier and Ann Spitz.

He is survived by: his wife Juanita Benik (Gossel); his son Tom Benik (Mary Ann) of Hilliard, Ohio; his stepsons, Steven Snoke (Debra) of Cincinnati, Scott Snoke of Houston and Robert Snoke (Melinda) of Pataskala, Ohio; his grandchildren, Tyler Snoke (Andrea) of Covington, Kassadi Spaw (Joshua) of Upper Arlington, Andrew Snoke (Kassi) of Katy, Justin Snoke of Pataskala, Elizabeth Snoke and Megan Snoke of Pataskala; and his great grandchild McKensie Snoke.

Donations may be made in memory of Dan Benik to the 'Ohio Veterans Home' in Georgetown, Ohio.
