He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Shanahan and Hazel Shanahan (Kelly); his brothers, Daniel (Sue) and Brother Tobias; his son Robert Pozniak; and his great grandchild Joshua Robert Hoernemann.
He is survived by: his wife Esther Shanahan; his son Michael Pozniak (Diane); his daughter-in-law Cathy Pozniak; his granddaughters, Jen Deardorff (Joe) and Jill Pozniak (Scott Hoernemann); and his great grandchildren, Claire, Molly, Gavin Deardorff and Cooper Hoernemann. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
