He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin E. Bitter and Laura L. Bitter (Hurdelbrink); and his brother Lowell Bitter. He is survived by: his wife Susan Pope-Bitter; his children, Cheri Swan and Reggie Bitter (Susan); his grandchildren, Katherine (Curtis), Michael, Samuel, Jacob and Julia; and his siblings, Carol Eckermann, Willis Bitter (Sharon L.) and Ted Bitter (Sharon K.). He is also survived by children and grandchildren.
