He was predeceased by: his former wife Sheila Bailar; and his parents, Clarence and Helen (Sheila). He is survived by: his son James Jr. (Jill); his granddaughters, Jori and Jaci; his son Randall; his sisters, Carol Beemer, Linda Schlievert and Ann Mann (Mike); his wife Linda; and his stepchildren, Scott Miller (Dana), Amy Molnar and Matthew Miller (Melissa). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

Memorial donations in James' name may be made to Cedar Creek Church – Perrysburg.
