He was predeceased by: his parents, Rolla A. Sondergeld and Evelyn M. Sondergeld (Wolter); his wife Betty L. Younker; his daughter Teresa May; and his siblings, Glenn, Robert Sondergeld (Meta) and Carol Barkhau (Marv).
He is survived by: his children, Cynthia Hinkle (Mike), Richard Sondergeld (Cymbeline), Geraldine Welling (William), Gordon L. Sondergeld, Jr. and Judith Artiaga (Rick); his brother Raymond Sondergeld (Leona); and his sister-in-law Janet Sondergeld. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
