He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Schmidlin and Romayne Schmidlin (Long); his spouse Marlaine (Lusk); and his siblings, Kenneth Schmidlin and Kay Recker.
He is survived by: his children, Matt Schmidlin (Daveda) and Sarah Smith (John); his grandchildren, Christopher, Shane, Chase Schmidlin, Jordan, Lynndsay and Zane Smith; and his great grandchildren, Jackson, Zayden, Minah, Chevelle Schmidlin, Lyla and Alexander Smith. He is also survived by many friends and neighbors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ – Genoa or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
