He was predeceased by: his parents, William Detty and Edna Detty (Ray); his wife Lucille L. Schanke; and his siblings, Bob, Kate, Jim, Vance, Ralph and Ann.

He is survived by: his great grandchild Colton Sosnowicz; and his brother Joe Detty (Fern) of Londonderry.
