He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Newman and Mary Newman (Bailey); his former wife Edythe M. Newman (Irons); his siblings, Elizabeth Mitchell and Richard "Dick" Newman; his grandson Michael Barrett; and his son-in-law Edward Horan.
He is survived by: his wife Doris J. Newman of Geneva; his children, James A. Newman (Carolyn) of Jefferson and Cheryl Robertson (Melvin) of Geneva; his brother Donald Newman (Suzanne) of Wilmington, OH; his grandchildren, Dezerae Newman of Jefferson, Amy Dodge (Virgil) and Steffany Smith (Don) of Conneaut; his great grandchildren, Allie of Conneaut, Callie of Conneaut, Amelia of Conneaut and Clorice of Conneaut; and his daughters, Nancy J. Baugh (Alan) of St. Mary, Carol A. Horan of Macedonia and Becky L. Stancliff (Dan) of St. Mary. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
