He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Ess and Dolores Ess (Larko); and his brother Bobby Ess. He is survived by: his daughters, Colleen Wilson (Ben) and Michelle Ess (Travis Keeton); his grandchildren, Haleigh, Leah, Liberty and Liam; and his siblings, Jay Ess (Cindy), Arlene Staiger, Clara Main, Rita Verlotta (Nick) and Laura Beemiller (Tony). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
