She was predeceased by: her parents, John Boggs and Dorothy Boggs (Griffith); her siblings, Charles, Olive Boggs and Robert Paul Mizer; her husband Silas Joy; her sons, Vernon and Raymond Mizer; and her half-siblings, Richard Rose and Dorothy Boggs.

She is survived by: her children, Vickie Mizer of Danville and Paul Mizer of Florida; her brother Roger Boggs (Loretta) of Newark; and her grandchildren, Amanda Sanchez (Cameron) and Kenny Mizer (Jessica). She is also survived by several great grandchildren.
