He was predeceased by: his parents, Rollie Munger and Gladys Munger; his siblings, Pauline, Keith and Jacquelin; and his son Jeffrey Barton.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Deakins; and his children, Mark Munger (Jean), Stephanie Hill (Larry) and Jenine Allen (Ron).

In lieu of flowers, Reed's great-granddaughter Ava Danielson, requested donations be made to The Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Ohio Valley, which was Ava's home away from home for over 20 weeks.
