He is survived by: his wife Patty Metz Wilks; his sons, Thomas Dean Wilks (Angela) of Stanford, KY and Michael Wilks of Proctorville, OH; his stepdaughters, Mary Sarratt (Buzz) of Lexington, KY and Nancy Castellow (Terry) of Wimauma, FL; his grandchildren, Andrew and Kaitlynn Wilks; and his pet Barney.
