He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Paul and Catherine Ratliff Swords; and his siblings, Robert, James, Richard, Ralph Swords, Phyllis Kelley, Sheila Collins and Lisa Swords.
He is survived by: his children, Steve Swords Jr. (Jennifer), Marla Parsons (Cliff), Joanna Ferrell (Clarence) and Raina Garber (Sam); his siblings, Earl Swords, Daniel Swords, Wanda Caudill, Sue Lamblin, Vicki Chaffin, Charrie Arthur, Valarie Dugan and Cindy Nelson; his grandchildren, Megan Clark, Travis Sigman, Ashley Kunkler, Grace Kroll, Catherine Ferrell, Ryann Garber, Jacob Garber, Chantelle McLain and Savannah Swords; and his great grandchild Clara Kunkler. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
