He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Turley Nicholas and Leon Nicholas Scarberry; his brothers, Billie, Kerman, Herman and Bob Nicholas; his stepfather Andrew Scarberry; his mother-in-law Darlene Belville; and his brother-in-law Philip Belville.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara K. Nicholas (Belville); his sons, Keith Nicholas (Lisa) of Tucson, AZ and Kevin Nicholas (Jamie) of Gallipolis; his grandchildren, Rachael Nicholas of Morgantown, WV, Brenna Nicholas, Lyndsey and Logan Nicholas of Gallipolis; his brother Gary Scarberry (Grace) of Huntington, WV; his father-in-law Carter Belville of Gallipolis; his sister-in-law Ardella Belville of Waterloo; and his friends, Alfred and Phyllis Holley. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and a host of many friends.
