Robert D. "Bob" Atwood, 87, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at his residence.

Born on March 16, 1935 in New Lexington, Ohio, Bob was the son of the late Harold H. and Mary Margaret Dodson Atwood. On November 17, 1961, Bob married Joyce Bethel Atwood, who survives him in Gallipolis; Bob and Joy celebrated 61 years of marriage. He was a retired sales manager for the Hoover Company. Bob enjoyed woodworking and golfing.

Bob is survived by his wife, Joy Atwood of Gallipolis; son, Scott (Monica) Atwood of Fort Wayne, Indiana; two daughters from a previous marriage, Kathy Bollinger and Deborah Fannin; two grandchildren, Chad (Brittany) Atwood of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Shelby Atwood of Fort Wayne, Indiana; two great grandchildren, Violet Anderson and Ezra Anderson; sister, Linda J. Garrett of Chillicothe, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

According to Bob's wishes, there will not be any public services. The family will have a private burial for Bob in Pine Street Cemetery.
