It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nelson R. Swain of Gallipolis, Ohio, born in Crown City, Ohio, who passed away on June 22, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley W. Swain and Bessie Dillon Swain; and his siblings, Wanda Scarbrough, Bertha Mae Miller, Aldean Miller, Orman Swain and Paul Swain.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Freeman Swain; his sons, Mark Swain (Lynda) of Corydon and David Swain (Sally) of Gallipolis; his siblings, Nelda Smith of Grove City, Ohio, Naomi Gooderham of Crown City, Ohio and Verlin Swain (Joann) of Crown City; his brother-in-law Retired Colonel Fred Freeman (Paula) of Omaha, Nebraska; his cousin Donna Ferguson of Proctorville, Ohio; and his close friend Joyce Morris of Gallipolis. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren.
