She was predeceased by: her parents, Winfred Gillispie and Edith Dunfee Gillispie; and her sisters, Mozell Dabney and Janice Watterson. She is survived by: her husband Ralph B. Workman; her children, Max "Marty" Spurlock (Deborah), Matthew Spurlock (Gene) and Betsy Arthur (Scott); her stepdaughter Paula King (Dick); her grandsons, Derek Spurlock (Jessica) and Ryan Rowsey (Angie); her great grandchildren, Olivia, Elijah Spurlock, Isabella Rowsey, Haven, Gaige Rowsey, Jordan Chapman, McKenzie and Skylar Farris; and her close friend Coco.
