She was predeceased by: her parents, Silas Gundrum and Naomi Gundrum (Finical); her husband James B. Essex; her son Frederick Essex; and her sister Artis Gardner.
She is survived by: her daughter Janis Gingerich of Galion; her grandsons, Bradley Gingerich, Kristopher Gingerich, Brian Essex and Kevin Essex; and her daughter-in-law Sandra Essex. She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
