He was predeceased by: his parents, Noel Smith and Florice Smith (Hess); his wife Mary Sue Smith (Webner); his brothers, Ronald Smith and James Smith; his sisters-in-law, Peg Smith and Nancy Smith; and his grandson Eric Smith.
He is survived by: his sons, Brian Smith of Columbus, Brad Smith (Cindy), Matt Smith (Traci) of Sanford, FL, Mike Smith (Kristi) of Mundelein, IL and Dr. Doug Smith (Amanda) of Lexington, KY.; his brother Paul Smith; and his sister-in-law Shirley Smith. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home (303 Portland Way N, Galion, OH 44833). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 10:30 AM and at 10:39 AM at the same location.
