He was predeceased by: his parents, Marie Kuhlman (Nartker) and Oscar Kuhlman; his wife Carolyn Gooding (Lanham); and his stepsons, Mick Gooding and Jeff Gooding.

He is survived by: his children, Michelle Yearling (Kurt) of Newark, Ohio, Mike Kuhlman of Marysville, Matt Kuhlman of Howell, Michigan and Adam Kuhlman (Christine) of Ottawa, Ohio.; his stepchildren, Troy Gooding (Lynn) of Capella and Tomi Sachs (John) of Bellevue; his siblings, Alan Kuhlman (Theresa) of Ottawa, William Kuhlman (Ruth) of Kalida and Kay Brown of New Bavaria; his grandchildren, Keaton, Halen, Peyton, Ethan, Allison and Kaitlyn; and his stepgrandchildren, Jason, Ashley, Galen, Molly, Connor, Jori and Dimitri.
