He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald H. Smith and Stella Smith (Schetter); his sister Kathy Miles; his brother-in-law Gary Chamberlin; and his nephew Nate Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Smith; his daughters, Amy Slusher and Lisa Overmyer (Dan); his grandchildren, Brook Slusher (Alex Knoll), Clarissa Slusher, Alexis Palos (Armando), Mackenzie Feathers (Zak Reck) and Rylie Valdez; his siblings, Rick "Alfie" Smith of Fremont, Jim Smith of Fremont, Doug Smith (Kathy) of Fremont, Bascom of Fremont, Scott Smith of Fremont, Cindy Smith of Fremont, Jerry Smith of Fremont, Rose Chamberlin and Tammy Smith (Rex); and his brother-in-law Steve Miles. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (709 Croghan St, Fremont, OH 43420). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Jospeh Catholic Church (709 Croghan St, Fremont, OH 43420).
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Heartland Hospice or Masses can be said in his honor.
