He was predeceased by: his father Alberto Mendez; his sister Veronica Morales; his grandparents, Hilario, Celia Torres, Francisco and Juanita Mendez; and his uncles, Hilario Torres Jr., Pablo Torres, Ricardo Torres, Dale Collins, Art Garza, Angel Mendez and Pedro Mendez.
He is survived by: his mother Maria Lemaitre; his children, Molly Royster, Cloudy Bell, Ryan Jensen and Freddy Gonzales; his grandchildren, Fernando Gonzales and Aonesti Anderson; his sister Denise Mendez (Nova Gonzalez); his nephew Jacob Oettinger; and his aunts and uncles, Noe Torres (Mary), Francisco Torres (Terri), Rachel Naderer (Louis), Gracie Garza, Norma Miller (Mike), Jesus Torres, Elisa Collins, Leticia Lopez (Carmello), Lupe Diaz (Rudy), Juanita Ossorio (Juan), Frank Mendez, Alejandrina De La (Salvador), Bertha Mendez, Melissa Valdez (Raul), Maria Mendez and Maricela Mendez.
