He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Sockman and Katherine Sockman (Franks). He is survived by: his wife Doris Sockman (Baker); his children, Kimberly Blanton (Rich) of Granville, OH, David Sockman (Cynthia) of Mount Vernon, OH, Christopher Sockman (Tanya) of Centerburg, OH and Lynn Kurtz (Kenny); and his grandchildren, Jerica Bergs, Clinton Sockman, Nathan Sockman, Krista McGowan, Bretton Sockman, Angela Rogers, Alisha Robinson, Seaira Price, John Gilhart II, Esquire and Adrienne Gilhart. He is also survived by 17 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Snyder Funeral Home of Fredericktown (33 E College St, Fredericktown, OH 43019). A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 21st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Ed's memory to the Mount Vernon Humane Society - Cat Shelter, 400 Columbus Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050.
