He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Opliger and Mabel Opliger (Parrot); his wife Mary Lou Blaney; his daughter Deanna Smith; and his siblings, Clyde Opliger and Anna Mae Baker.
He is survived by: his children, Greg (Mary Opliger), Jody Pinkstaff (Jerry Milne), Chris (Jan Opliger), Tim (Amber Opliger) and Mike Opliger; and his son-in-law Randy Smith of Fredericksburg. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two nephews.
