He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence William and Helen Virginia Hummel (Vanatta); and his siblings, Clarence W. Hummel and Betty Jean Powers. He is survived by: his wife Cynthia E. Hummel (Schoop); his children, Richard M. Hummel of Newark, Thaddeus Wintgens of Dresden, Nicholas Hummel (Michelle) of Hanover and Barbara Hummel of Frazeysburg; his grandchildren, Mariah Emerick, Tori Hummel, Dakota Hummel and Kane Hummel; and his sisters, Dorothy L. Hollingshead of Newark and Linda Kolb of Newark.
