He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Shumway and Nora Shumway; the mother of his children Patsy; his brother David Shumway; his former wife Judith Shumway; and his pet Sparky.
He is survived by: his wife Melanie; his son Greg Shumway (Amy) of Xenia; his grandchildren, Rebecca Spivey of Lakeland, Florida, Cailynn Shumway, Blake Sutton-Shumway, Desirae Spivey and R. J. Matteoli Jr. Mike; his siblings, Linda Shumway, Gary Shumway (Bridget), Larry Shumway (Judy), Sandra Jordan, Diane Golden (Greg), Mary Gibson, Norma Miller, Daniel Shumway (Donna), Martha Shumway and Faith Vincent (Jared); and his nephew Scott Jeffery Miller. He is also survived by two step-sons, two great grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to help the family with final expenses.
