He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Ross and Elizabeth Ross (Deaton); his wife Peggy Marie Ross; his daughter Connie Wagner; and his sister Irma Poffenbarger (Everett).

He is survived by: his daughter Renee Ross Elam (Doug Elam); his grandchildren, Ashley Elam, Liana Elam and Stephen Elam; and his sister Norma Birkhimer (Edwin).
