Regenia Faye Waddell Obituary
FRANKLIN FURNACE – Regenia Faye Waddell, 80, of Franklin Furnace, encircled by her loving family, entered into eternal peace and grace Friday, September 22, 2023 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio. Reginia was born February 28, 1943 in Ironton, Ohio to the late Burl Akers and Oleda Born Akers. Regenia was employed as a bus driver for Green Local Schools. Regenia lived a very sacrificing life dedicated to her loving husband, children, grandchildren and friends. Regenia was always known for her ability to care for others, her love was always felt by those who knew her. Her creative spirit led to a life-long passion of gardening, crafts, baking, sewing and her love for her church family, helping with church projects. Friends and family sought her expert advice from perennial flowers to tying the perfect bow. In addition to her parents, Regenia was preceded in death by two brothers, William and David Akers. Regenia is survived by her husband, Noah Waddell, Jr. whom she married October 10, 1959 in Ohio Furnace, Ohio. She is also survived by a son, Kevin (Kelly) Waddell; a daughter, Karen Waddell (Charles Darby); a brother, Scott (Penny) Akers; three sisters, Phyllis Terry, Bonnie Dawson and Teresa Palmer; two grandchildren, Noah Waddell and Lindsey (Steve) Roderick and two great grandchildren, Roen and Raynes Roderick. Regenia also leaves behind a devoted companion, her Yorkie, Chloe. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to SOMC Hospice and to her "special" caregivers – Sarah Waugh, Virginia "Jenny" Sanders, Kristen Nickles and Victoria Nash. Also, Stephanie Bentley – a God sent to Regenia that became part of our family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made to SOMC Hospice, Portsmouth, Ohio in honor of Regenia Waddell.
Services for Regenia will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Sand Hill Christian Baptist Church with Pastor Jared Timberlake and Pastor Andy Ramey officiating. Interment will be in Haverhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00-8:00 pm Monday, September 25, 2023 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg and one hour at the church before the 1:00 pm service on Tuesday.
