It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Loren Dale Oakes of Franklin Furnace, Ohio, born in Wheelersburg, Ohio, who passed away on November 16, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lowell Henry and Anna Kathleen Briggs Oakes; his sister Margaret Anne Maier (Martin E. Maier); and his grandparents, Asa "Kline", Edna Liston Briggs, John and Margaret Staker Oakes.
He is survived by: his wife Joanne M. Rase Oakes; his children, Amy Lynn Fraulini (Michael), Kelly Ann Skipworth (Jim) of Franklin Furnace, Brian Dale Oakes (Shelly) of Wheelersburg and Brett Alan Oakes (Lori) of Lucasville; his grandchildren, Maria Fraulini, Matthew Fraulini, Katherine Skipworth, Emily Skipworth, Aaron Akers (Hannah), Cassie Akers, Tyler Adams (Taylor), Luke Oakes and Laura Oakes; and his great grandchildren, Mia Adams, Elias Akers, Scarlett Wilson and Sienna Wilson.
