He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Wright and Velma Locklear Wright; his son Michael D. Wright; and his siblings, Sarah Miller, Beulah Conley, Faye Ragland, Lloyd, Donald "Pap", Carl and Raymond Wright.
He is survived by: his wife Joanne Thomas; his daughters, Carol Logan (Terry) of Frankfort and Robyn Wright of Columbus; his grandsons, Justin and Nathan Logan; his great grandchildren, Felicity, Mason, Sophia, Olivia and John; and his sister Esther Warfield (Ralph) of Columbus. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
