He was predeceased by: his parents, Emerson W. Thomas and Ruth Thomas (Fisher). He is survived by: his wife Janice Miller; his sons, Bill Thomas (Susan) of Mechanicsville and Scott Thomas (Shelia) of Round Rock, Texas; his stepchildren, Ira Francis (Easter) of Cuero, Texas, Mark Thomas of Cuero, Texas, Mary Shonce (William) of Austintown and Susan Balog (Jim) of Austintown; and his brothers, Art Thomas (Joann) of Newton Falls and Richard Thomas (Nancy) of Newton Falls. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter and one great great grandson.
The family has requested that donations be made in Edward's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project in lieu of flowers being sent.
