He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellsworth Mortimer and Ruth Mortimer (Coppus); and his daughter Laura Dunfee. He is survived by: his former wife Dona Woessner; his wife Annette Mortimer of Fostoria; his sons, Jeff Mortimer (Jane Ohm) of Port Clinton, Paul Mortimer (Tonya) of Bellevue and James Mortimer of Cygnet; his siblings, Robert Mortimer (Jennifer) of Risingsun and Norma Reinhart of Fostoria; and his grandchildren, Adam Mortimer, Jason Dunfee, Erica Hoffman and Holly Dulin. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
