He was predeceased by: his parents, John Shaferly and Nellie Shaferly (Vrooman); his daughter Julia Ann Pearsall; and his sister Ruth Ann Spross. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Kay Radcliff; his children, Donald E. Shaferly II (Wanda), JoLynn Moore (Craig), Laurie Shaferly (Chuck Sullivan) and Susan Goodman (Jerry); and his brother Duane Shaferly (Nancy). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to Heartland Hospice.
