He was predeceased by: his nephew Alex Simper; his grandparents, Mark Knapke, Melvin and Helen Heitkamp; and his cousins, Melinda, Jason, Anthony and Austin.
He is survived by: his parents, Tom Heitkamp and Kathy Heitkamp (Knapke); his siblings, Jeff Heitkamp (Kate) of Dublin, Jen Simper (Mike) of Coldwater, Bob Heitkamp (Laura) of Fort Recovery, Sara Dick (Matt) of Galion, Greg Heitkamp (Meredith) of Westerville, Dan Heitkamp (Kris) of Noblesville and Curt Heitkamp (Kelsey) of Lithopolis, Ohio; and his grandmother Norma Knapke of Cranberry Prairie. He is also survived by 22 nieces and nephews, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
