He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Wendel and Elnora Wendel (Homan); and his siblings, Novella Lauber (Albert), Imelda "Millie" Wilker (Jerome), Ermin Wendel (Regina), Thelma Schindler (Irvin), Elmer Wendel (Joan), Werner Wendel (Pat) and Alvin Wendel.
He is survived by: his sister-in-law Martha Wendel of Fort Recovery. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home (308 S Wayne St, Fort Recovery, OH 45846). A Mass was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church (403 Sharpsburg Rd, Fort Recovery, OH 45846). A burial was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery (512 S Wayne St, Fort Recovery, OH 45846).
