He was predeceased by: his parents, Urban Abels and Mary Abels (Braun); his siblings, Elmer Abels, Ralph Abels, Walter, Marceil Abels, Eugene Abels, Jim Abels, Mary Jane and David Larger; and his brothers-in-law, Anthony Nieport, Marion Neargarder and John Post.
He is survived by: his wife Marlene Abels (Post); his children, Linda Dilworth of Fort Recovery, Darlene, Rick Sudhoff of Coldwater, Dan Abels and Joe Angeles of San Francisco, CA; his siblings, Delores Nieport of St. Henry, Joan Neargarder of Versailles, Paul and Roberta Abels of St. Henry; his sisters-in-law, Dolores Abels of Coldwater, Dolores Schmitz of Coldwater and Nancy Abels of Fort Recovery, OH; and his parents-in-law, Luke, Barb Broering of St. Henry, John and Dorothy Guggenbiller of St. Henry. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren.
