He was predeceased by: his parents, Byron Southward and Genieve Barts (Stephsons); his wife Ruby Benner (Watkins); his stepson Tony Maag; and his stepsisters, Bonnie and Becky.
He is survived by: his children, Cyndi Southward (Jeff Ditmas) and Donald Southward (Katie Young); his stepchildren, Melanie Wonder (Bascom), Jeff Maag (Marlene), Clyde, Steve Maag and Forest; his granddaughter Samantha Boerger; his sister Beverly Coaker; and his stepsisters, Emily, Sandra, Patty and Kathy.
