Eakin in Forest, Ohio, born in Canton, Ohio, who passed away on October 2, 2023, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Eakin and LaVonne Eakin (Hughes); his grandson Robert Shaffer III; and his sister Evelyn Smith. He is survived by: his children, Sherrie Shaffer, Gerald Eakin II (Andrea) and Daniel Eakin (Mary); his grandchildren, Tristan and Mia; and his siblings, William Eakin (Marilyn), Beatrice Booher (Jerry) and Geraldine Berry. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
