She was predeceased by: her father Thomas Jolliff; her daughter Jody Stump; and her brother Allen Jolliff. She is survived by: her husband James Gordon Brown Sr.; her children, Beverly Southward (Donnie), James Brown (Vickie Johnson), Bruce Brown (Angie), Wharton of Sharon Brown, SC and Michael Brown (Julia); and her sisters, Bessie Tracy of Forest and Virginia Lawrence of Forest. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.
