He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Robert and G. Vivian Hughes Tyrell; and his siblings, Brenda Ross, Bethann Tyrell and Robert "Butch" Tyrell.

He is survived by: his wife Terri Brandon Tyrell of Flushing; his sons, Randy Tyrell, Jr. (Sarah) of Washington, PA and Jason Tyrell (Abby) of Newark, OH; his sister Janet Gray (Joe) of Centerville, OH; and his grandchildren, Lia, Jace, Rowan and Josie.
