He is survived by: his wife Rose Turney Burgess; his children, John Burgess Jr., Arthur Burgess and Veronica Lowrey (Robert); his siblings, Charles Burgess, Clara Lassitter (Grover) and Roberta Cireddu (Victor); and his granddaughter Savian Burgess. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
